MAKE WRITING FUN!
Handwriting is an important skill for children to master and struggles in this area may directly affect school performance. The Handwriting Without Tears program utilizes a fun and educational way to improve the speed and legibility of your child’s handwriting.
"Handwriting Without Tears" is a six week program designed for children experiencing difficulties with the skill of handwriting. This unique program was developed by, and is taught by Occupational Therapists. Each week focuses on a different underlying skill that precedes the development of handwriting. A multi-sensory approach to handwriting is emphasized, including general body coordination, tactile and kinesthetic awareness, visual spatial perception, hand manipulation skill, strength and motor planning. The handwriting kit includes a workbook, chalkboard, basic letter shapes and work mat, pencils for little hands, and a chalk bit and sponge.

To participate, children must have been exposed to the alphabet and previously taught how to form letters. The program’s main objective is instruction in printing, however, instructive in cursive will be on a case by case basis.
